Housing Choice Voucher Pre-Application (Section 8)

The Middletown Housing Authority will be accepting pre-applications for the Section 8 / Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting list beginning May 5, 2025 at 8:00am to May 7, 2025 at 4:00pm.  Applications will be accepted ONLINE ONLY.  No Paper Applications will be distributed.  If you are disabled and need assistance with submitting your pre-application, please contact MHA 732-671-4477 and request a reasonable accommodation.

To complete the preliminary application, you need to be eighteen (18) years of age or older or be an emancipated minor and able to provide the listed information at the time you are placing the application:

·         Date of Birth for all Household Members

·         Social Security Numbers for all Household Members

·         Gross Income for all Household Members.  This includes SS, SSI, Wages, Unemployment, and Child Support.

·         Valid email address for Head of Household

The MHA will use a third-party service to randomly select 350 applicants for placement on the waitlist. Applicants will be ordered according to preference weight. Placement on this waiting list does not indicate that you are, in fact, eligible for assistance.  A final determination of eligibility will be made when you are selected from the waiting list.  Incomplete applications will not be added to the waiting list.  When the waiting list is closed and processed, you will receive an email with the link to check your placement. DO NOT CALL.
